Linear Release Setup
A third-party skill from Linear. It helps you connect your CI to Linear Releases. Claude checks that you've made a pipeline in Linear, finds your CI platform and default branch, and asks what you ship and who gets it. Then it writes the config for each pipeline and reminds you to add the access key as a CI secret. While it runs, Claude reads Linear's README on GitHub. That page can change after we listed this skill. We didn't write it and haven't reviewed it. Licensed MIT.

What it does

In ChatGPT, create a Project and attach the file (or paste its contents into the project instructions). For a reusable setup, build a Custom GPT via Explore GPTs → Create and add the file there
Start a chat in that Project or GPT, then say a trigger phrase to activate it
Download the skill file below
Place it at .cursor/skills/linear-release-setup/SKILL.md (rename the downloaded file to SKILL.md). The shared .agents/skills/linear-release-setup/SKILL.md path also works

What this skill does
This is an overview of the skill from the site, not the skill's real instructions. The full SKILL.md Claude reads when this skill is active lives on GitHub at the source below.
What it does
Claude helps you connect your CI to Linear Releases, so Linear can track what shipped and when. The full instructions are in the SKILL.md we link to.
- Check the basics. Claude makes sure you’ve made a release pipeline in Linear. It then finds your CI platform and your default branch.
- Map what you ship. Each build that ships on its own becomes its own Linear pipeline. Claude asks about the usual splits, like production and beta, or iOS and web.
- Pick a pipeline type. Claude asks whether each pipeline is continuous or scheduled, and what stages a scheduled one moves through.
- Write the config. Claude builds the config for GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or CircleCI, starting from Linear’s own examples.
- Remind you about secrets. Each pipeline has its own access key. Claude tells you where to add it in your CI settings. Don’t paste the key into the chat.
While it works, Claude reads Linear’s README on GitHub to get the current commands and flags. That means the README can change after we listed this skill.
